Its an art-form and science all its own, intended to “sell” the actor to the casting directors. Every nuance of micro expression must be directed, adding depth to the character that tells a whole story about them in just one glance. Don’t just post a “this is me” snapshot and hope the director can imagine you in the role. That’s not going to get you very far. I direct my clients to enable them to show off their acting chops in a still shot that’s worth a thousand words, allowing the casting people to clearly see that you fit the role!
